Recap: what did I learn with the blog.

João Neves

This is my final text for the blog so I decided to do a recap of the «year» as an especial to end this journey. Initially, my first texts were always based around racism in the United States. Personally, it was really important for me to acquire that background information to have a well-based opinion on the theme. Obviously, this also forced me to do some research and found viable information, which is a very useful skill nowadays.

Then, I talked a bit about the American culture and realized its influence over the world in the past years. Not just in cinematography, but also art, sports, and even political ideas and systems. In my view, this American «wave» that drenched the world was good in some points, but of course, like everything, it also had its bad points.

Also, doing the podcasts with my friends was a really nice experience. It was something that I had never done before but because it was with my partners, it sounded just like a routine conversation.

In conclusion, I believe that this experience did upgrade my English, especially speaking and listening, given that throughout the year I started to feel more comfortable in my English and my ideas.
