There is not a soul alive that can honestly say they've never heard of the Beatles. Even if you're not aware of the band's history or entire discography, you've probably heard of songs like "Here Comes the Sun" and "Hey Jude" that mark this period of music throughout eternity.
The endless Beatles
The Beatles were and continue to be one of the most influential rock and roll bands. Besides having an enormous impact on the American and British music culture in the 60s, they influenced and inspired many music artists such as Jimmy Hendrix, David Bowie, and Oasis. Furthermore, the band remains as an icon and an inspiration for artists at the present day. So, how did it all begin?
John Lennon and Paul McCartney brought George Harrison and later Ringo Starr which completed the band's core. Reaching the name Beatles was a long and very interesting path that included the names Quarry Men, Johnny and the Moondogs, and Beetles.
The quick success of the band and growing fanbase made them reach the spotlight and become the first band to have a live performance held in a stadium.
Beatles' music
People began to notice this band was different right from their first album. They had such a different style from any other band at that time, since they were able to combine different genres and therefore appeal to a larger audience. The group started with 1950's rock and roll and later on moving into pop ballads, psychedelic rock, and also having some classical influences in their songs. The popularity of The Beatles grew as their music developed and became more mature. Songs that were released by them became instant hits such as "Blackbird", "Yesterday" and "Come together".
Following the death of the band's manager Brian Epstein, cracks in the group’s unity began to show, and recording sessions became difficult with members occasionally quitting and returning. With no plans for future shows, the band went to the studio for one more and final album. Following The Beatles’ break-up, their final studio album "Let It Be" was released on May 8th, 1970; that was an emotional ending for a group of people that touched the world through their music.
